Free Shuttle Bus Service at The Village Care Centre
Bringing The Village to Town!
The Village Nursing Care Centre has unveiled its new free shuttle bus service. The service is being provided to offer our residents the opportunity to get out and about without the expense of hiring taxis or relying on their family members to carry out errands. The shuttle service will be free of charge for residents, their families and friends, and has been put in place to encourage independence and a greater involvement with the community.
It is expected that the shuttle service will eventually be operating a twice daily service from Tuesday to Saturdays, with agreed stops to be announced at a later date. Those wishing to avail of the service can call The Village Care Centre with their contact details; they will then be forwarded details of the next shuttle service and pick up at a designated collection point will be arranged.
There are a number of associated services available at the Village for which the shuttle service will offer an added benefit. Those wishing to attend the adult day care service or those who are availing of physiotherapy, occupational therapy or complementary medicine at The Village Care Centre are also encouraged to use the service.
Speaking at the launch of the shuttle service, Dr. Bhatti, proprietor, remarked that “I am delighted to be able to offer a free shuttle service to our residents and their friends and family. It is extremely important for our residents to have regular visits and to be able to remain as independent as possible”. He went on to say that “This service will help our residents feel a part of the community, and offers them the opportunity to continue to control their personal finances and run whatever errands they wish whilst visiting Oranmore or the city”.
The Village Care Centre is a modern purpose built care facility, located approximately 20 minutes from Galway city and close to the villages of Craughwell, Clarenbridge and Oranmore. Under the new Nursing Home Support Scheme, those who qualify for Fair Deal can stay at The Village from as little as €175.20 per week subject to meeting the relevant financial and care needs assessments.
